National Honor Society Alumni Panel - 3/18

Alumni Nikita Rana (`19), Griffin Laszlo (`20), Ester Teper (`19), and host Anita Osuri (`22).

On March 18th, Biotech’s National Honor Society hosted an alumni panel featuring Nikita Rana, Griffin Laszlo, and Ester Teper, hosted by NHS President Anita Osuri and NHS member Tienne Yu. Each alumni is an accomplished undergraduate college student in their respective majors and offered insight into their college experience.

Nikita Rana

Nikita is a junior at Stevens Institute of Technology, majoring in biomedical engineering and is pre-dental. She offered advice such as exploring the nature around the campus and making connections through clubs or sororities. She mentioned how Stevens has a plethora of opportunities to shadow dentists as well as other career development experiences. She also enjoys being close to home and exploring the city of Hoboken, to which she even forgets that she is in New Jersey!

Ester Teper

Ester is a junior at Vanderbilt University, majoring in chemical/ biomolecular engineering and communications in science and technology. She is also an author of the book, Unfocused: The Journey to Self-Actualization, where she interviewed more than a hundred individuals to offer insight on the reconceptualization of success. She offered advice such as finding your writing style and making use of the student services at your respective school in terms of counseling services and peer tutoring. Griffin Laszlo

Griffin is a senior at the University of Notre Dame, majoring in computer science. He offered insight into how to manage social life and academics by setting a different mindset for each “side” of his life. He talked about the importance of utilizing student sources and how his personal life organization coach at Notre Dame helped him manage all of his responsibilities. He offered a unique insight into college at a Catholic university and the interesting theology courses he took as well as unique perspectives gained from this experience.
